What is Chapter 31 CO Lisa about?
CO Lisa is a white woman. We would put her in her late forties or early fifties. She has a daughter who is a drug addict (meth or opioids; we're not sure), who is in and out of jail. CO Lisa is raising her granddaughter, who in her words is "her life." Her face lights up and she smiles when she talks about her routine. When she leaves work, she picks up her grand daughter from school and brings her home, where they eat dinner, read, do homework, all of the normal things that the women she spends all day guarding will never do.CO Lisa has worked for twelve years at SCI-Women and two years in the BMU. Unit Man ag er Tom selected her specifically. (We learn from Unit Man ag er Tom that he gets 100 percent of say in whom he selects for his team in the BMU.)We ask CO Lisa, "What's the most frustrating part of the job?"
