What is 2024 - Participants Speed-Accuracy Trade-Off Behavior in High-Stress Situations in Simulator Studies about?

This paper investigates the speed-accuracy trade-off behavior of participants in high-stress situations through two simulator studies: one involving a driving simulator and another in a virtual reality (VR) warehouse environment. Findings indicate that participants often prioritize reaction speed over decision accuracy, leading to task failures despite visual cues designed to guide them. The authors discuss the implications for human-machine system design and the need for better integration strategies to ad
