This report examines the effect of pile diameter on the modulus of subgrade reaction through analytical and experimental testing. Instrumented cast-in-drilled-hole piles with diameters ranging from 0.4m to 1.2m were installed in dense weakly cemented sand. Vibration tests and lateral load tests were performed to back-calculate p-y curves for each pile diameter.
