What is Atrial Flutter Overview and Symptoms about?

Atrial flutter is a type of supraventricular tachycardia caused by a macro reentrant circuit most commonly occurring in the right atrium, with a heart rate ranging from 250-350 beats per minute. Post-operative scarring can act as a substrate for new reentrant circuits in the atrium and can trigger atrial flutter. Signs and symptoms typically reflect decreased cardiac output due to the rapid ventricular rate and include palpitations, fatigue, poor exercise tolerance, mild dyspnea, and presyncope.
