What is Hyperuricemia and Acute Coronary Syndrome about?

This report analyzes the impact of hyperuricemia as a risk factor for major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in young and adult patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). A retrospective cohort study involving 251 patients revealed that those with hyperuricemia had significantly worse survival rates compared to those without it, with a mean survival of 6.05 days versus 7.33 days. The findings suggest that hyperuricemia is associated with increased risk for MACE during hospitalization in ACS patients.
