Nearly 1,300 women from Latin America and the Caribbean attended the eighth Encuentro Feminista Latinoamericano y del Caribe in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic in 1999 to collectively reimagine feminism and its relationship to struggles for human dignity and social justice.
