This research article proposes an optimized hybrid MAC protocol for machine-to-machine (M2M) networks, combining a contending process using slotted ALOHA and a transmission process utilizing time division multiple access. The study formulates an optimization problem to maximize system throughput while analyzing performance metrics such as packet delay and success access ratio through Monte Carlo simulations. Results indicate that the proposed protocol significantly outperforms existing hybrid MAC protocols
