The document contains calculations to find the probabilities (P) of finding an electron in certain regions of space based on its wavefunction (ψ). It first calculates P=0.818 for the wavefunction ψ1 between x=L/4 and x=3L/4 by integrating the squared wavefunction. It then calculates P=1/2 for the wavefunction ψ2 in the same region by another integration. It concludes this is consistent with the graph in Fig. 40.5(b) which shows more of ψ1 than ψ2 between x=L/4 and x=3L/4.
