About this document

Impact of Cutting PICCs on DVT Rates by accesosvasculares.desa is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the relationship between cutting peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients. Results indicate a significant increase in DVT rates among patients whose PICCs were cut or trimmed before insertion (9.82%) compared to those whose PICCs were not altered (1.95%). Further research is needed to explore optimal practices for PICC length and trimming methods to minimize DVT risks.
