What is Soxhlet Extraction Process Explained about?
The Soxhlet extractor is a device that continuously extracts a component from a solid mixture using a solvent. Boiling solvent vapors dissolve the desired component when condensed drops of solvent fall into the porous cup containing the solid mixture. When the side arm is full, the solvent containing the dissolved component is siphoned into the boiler below, allowing fresh solvent to continue the extraction cycle in the porous cup.
