What is Accurate analytic approximation to Milne’s problem for a scattering and absorbing medium about?

An accurate method is used for solving the scattering and absorbing Milne problem. This method used trail functions based on Case's eigenvalues plus a linear combination of exponential integral functions. The proposed trail function is used in the Milne integral equation reducing it to a system of algebraic equations to be solved for the expansion coe$cients. Numerical results for extrapolated endpoint, emerging angular distribution and total density are given and compared with the published results. The calculations show the e$ciency of the proposed method.
