About this document

Allometric Scaling of Canine Cardiac Measurements by Lucas Queiroz is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study examines the relationships between M-mode cardiac measurements and body weight (BW) in adult dogs, challenging the assumption of linearity in previous models. Using data from 494 dogs, the authors determined that the best predictor for M-mode dimensions is related to body length rather than BW or body surface area, leading to the development of new equations for normal cardiac measurements. The findings provide veterinarians with accurate reference values for assessing cardiac dimensions in dogs
