What is Editorial about?

The fourth year of the Journal's activity is being entered with a much larger backlog of papers awaiting publication than was the case last year. This gratifying state of affairs shows that the Journal is fulfilling its stated objectives and that the activity in the various areas of computer analysis is rapidly growing. To avoid unacceptable delays in publication it is therefore necessary to increase the amount of published material in the coming year. This will be accomplished by publishing one and a half volumes (six issues) during the year 1972 and subscribers will be notified accordingly. At the end of the year a review of the situation will be made to decide between this policy and the alternative of increasing the size (and cost) of each volume. It is recognized that the success of the activity is not judged merely by the steadily increasing flow of what we believe are valuable contributions. Thus, while reasonably pleased with the achievement to date there is still much room for improvement. Regders of the Journal have transmitted to us comments that are published and these form one of its useful attractions. We shall in the future increase this feature. Short technical note
