Alice Munro is a renowned Canadian short story writer who was born in 1931 in Ontario and grew up on a fox and mink farm. She left university after two years to move to Vancouver with her first husband before relocating to Victoria where she raised three daughters as a divorced mother. Munro is internationally acclaimed for her short stories, becoming one of only two Canadians and thirteen women to ever win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
