The amino acid sequence of an unknown polypeptide was determined based on observations of how it fragmented after various treatments: Cyanogen bromide cleavage and trypsin digestion indicated the sequence contained fragments with compositions of Ala-Met-Gly-Lys and Lys-Ala-Pro. Further treatment with FDNB confirmed the sequence is Ala-Met-Gly-Lys-Ala-Lys-Pro.
