This study examined the relationships between adult attachment styles, parenting experiences in childhood, and core beliefs about the self and others. 389 undergraduate students completed questionnaires measuring these constructs. The results showed that negative self-evaluative core beliefs were associated with anxious attachment and inconsistent parenting, especially for females.
