This document proposes iMonitor, the first traffic monitoring and labeling system for iOS devices. iMonitor captures mobile network traffic files and provides comprehensive APP and user information for each packet. It labels traffic with the exact APP or device to allow analysis. iMonitor implementation uses the NetworkExtension framework in iOS 9+ to reliably label APP traffic. Evaluations on iPhones found iMonitor has minimal impact on user experience and network throughput despite slight packet latency.
