Olav Olsen was a prominent Norwegian structural engineer born in 1913. He showed early academic talent but his family could not afford university. Through hard work, he graduated with excellent marks from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 1937. He then joined a consultancy firm where he specialized in concrete shell structures and made significant contributions to many landmark engineering projects in Norway over his long career.
