To reset the purge counter on certain Brother inkjet printer models, follow these steps: 1. Remove the power cable and hold down the START button while reconnecting the cable until "Please Wait" appears. 2. Enter maintenance mode by pressing "menu" then "*2864". 3. Press 80, then use the up/down buttons to set "PURGE" to all zeros by pressing 2787. 4. Press STOP to return to normal printing with the purge counter reset.
