What is Atal Bhujal Yojana and Water Management about?
NITI Aayog is developing a roadmap for implementing methanol economy in India to reduce pollution and oil imports. Methanol can replace dirty fuels like HFO used in power plants and mobile towers. A World Bank project will provide Rs. 6000 crore for Atal Bhujal Yojana to improve groundwater management in priority states. NITI Aayog will also launch a Composite Water Management Index to encourage efficient water usage and management.
