About this document
Free Machining Brass Alloy 385 Overview by Fred Duarte Caldeira is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Alloy 385 free-machining brass is a copper-zinc-lead alloy with a duplex phase structure and fine dispersion of lead particles, making it highly suitable for high-speed machining. It has limited cold forming properties and is generally supplied cold drawn. Typical applications include components produced on automatic high-speed lathes such as bearings, bushings, bolts, and nuts. The alloy has a machinability rating of 100% and excellent soldering properties with good brazing ability.
