A new technique uses a novel water dispersible weighting agent to address problems with cement slurries for high-pressure, high-temperature wells in Italy. The new agent allows flexibility to change slurry designs and eliminates pre-blending. It is composed of manganese oxide particles that remain suspended in water due to their high surface area.
