The study evaluates the regeneration of gingival papillae after single-implant treatment using a proposed index to assess the size and contour of the papillae. Results from a pilot study involving 25 crowns in 21 patients indicated significant spontaneous regeneration of papillae over a mean follow-up period of 1.5 years. The findings suggest that while some tissue recession occurs initially, a majority of papillae recover and achieve optimal contour in relation to adjacent teeth over time.
