What is Understanding the Doctrine of Trinity about?

The document discusses the doctrine of the Trinity in Christianity. It explains that while the term "Trinity" is not found in the Bible, the idea that God exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit is based on passages throughout the New Testament. It describes how the Trinity was further developed and articulated by early church leaders and councils to address heresies that denied the divinity of Jesus Christ or the Holy Spirit. The doctrine holds that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are co-equal and co-eternal
