What is Oral Health Needs of Special Needs Youth about?

This study assessed the oral health status and treatment needs of 54 children and young adults with special health care needs attending a day center in Lagos, Nigeria. The findings revealed a high prevalence of dental caries, with 66.7% of participants being caries-free, and a significant need for restorative care, including oral prophylaxis and veneers. The results highlight the importance of parental education on diet and oral hygiene practices to improve the oral health of this population.
