About this document
Arachidonic Acid by Cristina Belcastro is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigated the association between levels of arachidonic acid (AA) in breast milk and weight gain in exclusively breastfed infants in Brazil. The study found that AA levels in breast milk were positively correlated with weight gain in female infants, and male infants only when exposed to higher concentrations of AA. The study concludes that AA may influence weight gain in infants, and female children may be more susceptible to the adipogenic effects associated with this fatty acid.
