Tenayuca is a pre-Columbian archaeological site located 10 km northwest of Mexico City that was originally the capital of the Chichimec people. It contains the remains of a large pyramidal platform with a double staircase and twin temples. Surrounding the pyramid base is a low wall decorated with 138 stone sculptures of snakes.
