What is A Low-cost Interactive Computer-driven Full-color Raster-scan Display System about?
## Summar y A low-cost interactive full-color raster-scan display system with a PDPII/4 5 minicomputer as a host has been built . The system is capable of generatin g dynamic patterns in 256 different arbitrarily chosen colors . The resolutio n is modest ; a pattern consists of 128x96 picture elements . The salient feature of this system, built at the request of an artist, i s that a set of colors may be composed or be modified interactively, the latte r even while a display program is running . For that purpose one may use a program containing relations between the colors or one may " mix" any colo r oneself by means of the so-called color generator . The range spans more tha n 16 million shades . A light pen completes the system and may be used as a multi-color pencil .
