About this document
AFM Study of Slip Bands in Aluminum by Chin-Min Yang is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study utilizes in situ atomic force microscopy (AFM) to observe the development of slip bands in plastically deformed aluminum single crystals, revealing that the structure and evolution of these bands depend on the tensile axis. Notably, slip bands near the [0 0 1] axis grow to about 250 nm in height before ceasing, while those near the [1 1 2] orientation evolve continuously, and wavy bands are observed near the [1 1 1] axis. The findings contribute to understanding the plastic deformation mechanisms
