This study uses multiple dating techniques (40Ar/39Ar, zircon fission track dating) and fluid inclusion analysis to constrain the thermal evolution and cooling history of the Zaldívar porphyry copper deposit in northern Chile. 40Ar/39Ar dating of igneous biotites from the deposit yielded ages of 35.5-37.7 Ma, while zircon fission track ages were younger at approximately 29 Ma.
