What is Distance Calculation Using Subtense Bar about?

Using a theodolite positioned at the center of a six-sided lot, angles were measured to a 2-meter subtense bar located at each corner. The distances from the instrument to the six corners were calculated by taking the cotangent of half the measured angles and multiplying by the bar length of 2 meters. This yielded distances of 261.76 meters, 546.40 meters, 455.83 meters, 305.80 meters, 223.59 meters, and 699.20 meters for corners 1 through 6, respectively.
