What is Discourse Psychology and Social Interaction about?

The article discusses discursive psychology (DP), which analyzes discourse as a domain of public accountability rather than as a reflection of underlying mental states. It emphasizes the importance of examining how psychological themes are managed in everyday interactions, particularly in contexts like police interrogations. The author argues that language serves as a primary means of making experiences and intentions accountable in social practices, challenging traditional views in cognitive psychology.
