What is H.WERNER.GOEDDE (1927-1996) about?
In 1963 he obtained his specialization in Human Genetics. In 1966 he was offered the chair of the then newly created Institute of Human Genetics at the University of Hamburg. In 1994 he retired from the position of Director of the Institute and continued his scientific activities in the Institute as an Emeritus Professor. Dr Goedde was well known for his important contributions to pharmacogenetics and ecogeneths. His population genetics studies took him to various parts of the world including North America, South America, Africa and Asia. The results of Dr Goedde's extensive population genetics studies have been the basis for further molecular genetic findings in many laboratories around the world in the past 30 years.
