This document discusses host disconnect issues that may occur when using VMware vSphere 5.5 Update 2 or later with IBM SAN storage. A change introduced in vSphere 5.5 Update 2 uses Atomic Test and Set for heartbeat I/O by default, which is now supported on IBM SAN storage running 7.6.1 or later code when used with vSphere 6.0u3 or later.
