The rice fields in Chicot and Jefferson counties received fertilizer applications and are being flooded. Most fields have emerged this past week with good plant stands. Cooler temperatures slowed growth and caused some stress, but warmer temperatures are aiding recovery and growth. Weed control remains effective as overlapping residual herbicide applications have begun.
