This study investigated the prevalence of Fusobacterium necrophorum (FN) in tonsils from patients undergoing tonsillectomy due to chronic tonsillitis. Culture samples were taken from the surface, crypts, and core of the tonsils of 126 patients. FN was the most commonly found pathogen, detected in 19% of samples.
