What is TGFBI Gene Mutation in Granular Corneal Dystrophy about?

This study aimed to investigate the types of TGFBI gene mutations in outpatients clinically diagnosed with granular corneal dystrophy (GCD) before phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK), and also to calculate the mutation rate of subjects with normal corneas but a positive family history. The study involved 42 subjects aged 8-89 years, including 23 males and 19 females, between December 2014 and February 2016 in China. The study aimed to identify TGFBI gene mutations to establish a new classification of GCD.
