About this document

Understanding Nucleic Acids: DNA & RNA by Sanya Siyal is a document available to read on EtoBox.

1. Nucleic acids are naturally occurring polymers composed of nucleotides that are the basic building blocks. The two main types are DNA and RNA. 2. DNA contains the genetic instructions and is located in the nucleus of cells. It has a double helix structure formed by pairing of nucleotides with complementary bases. 3. RNA functions to convert the genetic information from DNA into amino acid sequences to make proteins. It has similar structure to DNA but contains the sugar ribose instead of deoxyribose.
