About this document
Emergency Hand Trip Valve for Steam Turbines by bk kumar is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The emergency/hand trip valve allows manual tripping of a steam turbine. It consists of a pilot valve and ball head that connects auxiliary trip oil to return oil lines. Depressing the ball head moves the pilot valve, dropping pressure in the auxiliary trip oil circuit and triggering the main trip valves to shut down the turbine. A limit switch indicates when the emergency valve has been tripped. During startup before oil is pressurized, a separate startup oil line holds the pilot valve up.
