This study validated the 4-Item and 10-Item Uncertainty Stress Scale (USS) among 904 Chinese adults, confirming their acceptable psychometric properties. Both versions demonstrated high internal consistency and significant correlations with the Chinese Perceived Stress Scale, indicating their effectiveness in measuring uncertainty stress. The findings suggest that the shorter USS-4 is a time-efficient alternative to the USS-10 for assessing uncertainty stress in community settings.
