of younger age, larger tumor size, greater # of nodes positive, % of nodes positive, $ 4 nodes, and ECE. Patient characteristics on UVA associated with a statistically significant increased risk for regional recurrence (p # 0.05) were age # 35 years 4%, NX 3.9%, ECE 2.1%, grade 3 2.4%, LVI 2.9%, and chemotherapy without hormones 2.6%. On MVA of all patients, only age # 35 years (p = 0.04) and LVI (p = 0.03) were independent predictors for regional node recurrence. Subgroup analysis of patients treated to the regional nodes was done. Patients treated with an axillary boost in addition to a supraclavicular field more often had an undissected axilla (p = 0.02) or . 75% of nodes positive (p = 0.05) compared to patients treated with a supraclavicular field alone. On MVA, the 10-year regional recurrence rate was 4% for patients treated with a supraclavicular field only, compared to 0.5% for supraclavicular and axillary boost (p = 0.02). Conclusions: The risk of regional recurrence was very low in this large series of patients treated with BCT and adjuvant radiation. Age # 35 years and LVI are independent predictors for increased regional recurrence. The use of an axillary boost was assoc
