Can I read D.C. Meter Shunt Resistance Guide on EtoBox?
D.C. Meter Shunt Resistance Guide by rt001 is a document available to read on EtoBox.
What is D.C. Meter Shunt Resistance Guide about?
For measuring DC current, a meter uses a shunt with very low resistance connected in parallel so that most current flows through the shunt. The proportion of current through the shunt is given by R+S/X, where R is meter resistance, S is shunt resistance, and X is the multiplying factor. For example, a 1mA 200Ω meter reading 100mA full scale would use a shunt of 2Ω resistance. Shunts must be precision resistors able to carry current without overheating and causing errors. If calibrated shunts are unavailable
