This document presents research on developing lightweight concrete using artificial lightweight aggregate (ALWA) made from diatomaceous earth, a material found in Aceh, Indonesia. Two types of ALWA were produced: one with only diatomaceous earth, and another with a 5% addition of sawdust to the diatomaceous earth.
