What is Goals and Scope of Counseling about?

Counseling aims to empower clients and lead them to self-emancipation regarding problems through the application of psychological theories and communication skills. The scope involves a professional relationship between counselor and client to clarify thinking, release tension, and reorient perspectives, but does not treat mental illness. The relationship requires eventual closure and termination.
