What is Ladakh about?

Residents of Ladakh are demanding inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution for greater autonomy and preservation of their culture, amidst concerns over distant administration and job reservations. The government has increased job reservations for Scheduled Tribes but maintains that the Sixth Schedule is primarily for Northeast states. A Parliamentary Committee has recommended examining the possibility of including Ladakh in either the Fifth or Sixth Schedule to address local concerns.
