What is Dopamine about?

This study investigated the role of dopamine and its receptors in peripheral pain processing in mice. The researchers found that dopamine administered locally in the hind paw produced dose-dependent antinociception via activation of D2-like receptors. Higher doses of dopamine caused hyperalgesia mediated by D1-like receptors. The study suggests dopamine has a dual peripheral effect on nociception depending on dose and receptor activation.
