Hemospon is a sterile, absorbable gelatin sponge used to control bleeding during and after surgery. It absorbs 40-50 times its weight in blood, stabilizes blood clots, and accelerates wound healing. Hemospon is made of pure pharmaceutical gelatin from pigs and is indicated for achieving hemostasis when conventional methods are not effective, such as in tooth extractions or tumor removals.
