What is Microleakage in Glass Ionomer Cements about?

This study evaluated the microleakage of class V restorations using different conventional glass ionomer cements (GIC) and resin-modified glass ionomer cements (RMGIC). Eighty class V cavities were prepared in bovine teeth and restored with one of five GICs or three RMGICs. The restorations were subjected to thermal cycling and then immersed in silver nitrate and developing solutions to assess microleakage.
