What is North Carolina Free Trader Agreement about?

This free trader agreement is between a husband and wife who are separated. It allows each spouse to own, buy, sell or manage property without the consent or involvement of the other spouse as if they had never been married. The agreement releases each spouse from any claim to property acquired solely by the other spouse after the separation. They both signed the agreement, which was notarized, to establish their independent property rights under North Carolina state law during their separation.
