What is Bangsamoro Organic Law about?

The Bangsamoro Organic Law establishes a new autonomous political entity called the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region to replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. It aims to address the long-standing grievances of the Bangsamoro people and fully implement the peace agreements between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. The law provides for greater political and economic autonomy as well as a transitional arrangement until the first election for the new government is held.
